Right To Education By Liyakat Shah

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Right to Education and Child Centred We are living in modern, scientific and technological world where the pace of the world is very high. Hence it is necessary for us to get education at any cost. Without education our body is like without soul. Education separates the ignorant person from the learned one. It is rightly said that once education gained cannot be stolen at any cost. Education is the back bone of every individual irrespective of caste creed or religion. Great strides have been made in many fields of science, computer, space, medicine, astronomy and many more just because of education. In olden days there were no proper means of facilities and equipments available for education. But the educator and the pupil were very conscious members to impart and gain education. The factual scene of today is totally different because everything is available to us at ease and comfort, but due to our lethargic laziness and pessimistic attitude we remain aloof. There are many dropouts from schools and colleges and sadly nobody cares or bothers for them. Our children should be given proper guidance in order to guide them towards the right path for their future career. If the student fails in any examination he gets frustrated distracted depressed and his mind always tortures him which leads him to give up his education. This is the time where our children should be motivated and encouraged where they should feel that failure does not mean that we should give up, but it does means that we are having a fresh start. Our parents should also think about the future of their children. We should not expect every child as a meritorious student because whatever he or she has performed it is his individual performance and it should not be compared with others. If comparison is done between two students then it would lead to frustration envy, and mental disorder of the student. Hence whatever may be the performance of the student it should be appreciated and praised to give a glimpse of cheer on his or face? Because once the time goes away it would never come back again. Hence education is must and it should be gained at any cost. Right the word itself symbolizes that a person who have certain facilities where he or she can use it for his better purpose. One such act known as the Right to Education was passed by the nation of world’s biggest democracy in the world that is India. The act deals about free and compulsory education for the children between the age group of six to fourteen. It was passed on 20th July 2009. Since ancient times India is associated with education be it formal or informal. Today’s world is a modern and computerized world so to match with the world pace the procedure of education has also undergone many desired and specific changes to make a better citizens. To make a child well versed and to withstand this complex world at the primary level. Indian Government enacted a law known as The Right to Education. It enumerates that free and compulsory education should be provided to all students in the age group of six to fourteen. It is an elementary education that must be taken by every child. For this they are free to join their nearest school of their choice to gain education. It is the responsibility of the school to admit such students and provide the best of best quality of education to the pupils. The Union and state government are so much concerned about the education that they provided various facilities to the schools as well as students to gain education. Many schemes and policies are framed for various states across India in such a way that they may attract the students to knock the doors of school to take their admissions. Some of them include free morning milk, breakfast, books, pens, pencils bags, uniforms, mid-day meal, scholarships and many more facilities to attract the students. The school’s atmosphere should be conducive for the students to have proper and up-to-date with educational and health and hygiene facilities for either gender. Clean and safe drinking water to be supplied for drinking purpose, separate toilets for girls and boys, airy classrooms well equipped with teaching aids and so on. There are many poor people in India who are deprived of basic education hence Right to Education provides them an opportunity to gain education at elementary level. It is an education which is child oriented it would bring an all round development in child’s personality. The basic elements of each subject is framed in such a way that the child is molded literally, scientifically, mathematically, socially, morally and many more basic values of becoming a good and honest citizen. Right to Education gives a scope to a child to have a right to gain education to upgrade his status and to be a learned person like the others.
