India is a land of cultural heritage. It is since ages that land has maintained its glory and history. It is a land of Sufism and Saints. Many civilizations have developed here. The land is filled with rich natural resources and made the land fertile by numerous big and small rivers. Beautiful mountains that even stand still today bearing all the seasons. Many rulers have invaded it including Afghans, Iranians, Mughals, French, Portuguese, Dutch and British. The British almost ruled for 150 years. Before that India was also known as Golden Bird. India became free on 15th of August 1947 and the constitution can into force by 26th January 1950. India is a democratic country in which elections are held after every five years to elect their representatives for federation.
The Taj Mahal in Agra and Jama Masjid in Delhi are famous for their artistic work and often find place filled with foreign tourists. The Taj Mahal is constructed by white marble and was built by Shahajahan in the memory of his beloved life Mumtaj Mahal. There are twenty eight states and seven union territories in India.
